**Our Next Terrestrial Ecologist Lead...**
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Terrestrial Ecologist Lead to join our team The role will lead and provide senior technical oversight to support the continued growth and development of our Rehabilitation and Reclamation service offering for Integrated Mine Closure and Mine Planning. This position is open to our Australian and Canadian offices.
**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities**
- Provide advanced technical knowledge, guidance and quality outputs.
- Prepare and provide peer and senior technical reviews of reports developed by others.
- Ensure compliance is followed and regulatory implications assessed to follow federal and provincial environmental and global best practices.
- Conducting and coordinating detailed reviews of mining and reclamation activities.
- Provide senior technical input to project teams ensuring core processes and technical standards are followed.
- Prepare or review detailed work scopes for proposals.
- Interact competently with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels of expertise.
- Foster and maintain effective client and regulatory relationships and networks including the identification of innovative opportunities.
- Provide mentorship and a pathway for the development of resource skills within the technical discipline areas.
- Facilitate mentorship and technical training of resources and foster a culture of learning and development.
- Complete annual review of skills assessment for current and new employees and understand resources with development interest.
- Promote growth and opportunities within the technical discipline.
- Champion authentication and verification of technical deliverables.
- Develop and maintain key standard workflows.
- Ensure continuous improvement and technical quality within the team.
- Contribute to Okane’s strategic plan for growth within the technical discipline.
- Regularly identify opportunities in collaboration with Business Development and Innovation.
**Job Requirements**

- Advanced knowledge and experience with environmental approvals and rehabilitation guidelines and standards within Canada.
- Strong terrestrial ecology background with a related professional designation within Canada is considered an asset.
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize, consider alternatives and respond quickly and effectively to unexpected and rapidly changing conditions.
