Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate Support Workers to provide care and assistance an individual in need. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for [the youth]by offering personalized support and companionship.

**Duties**:

- Assist clients with daily living activities such as grooming, bathing, and dressing
- Provide meal preparation and ensure dietary requirements are met
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Offer emotional support and engage clients in meaningful conversations
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks
- Provide specialized care for a young person who is non verbal, with mental challenges.
- Collaborate with parents to ensure the well-being of the youth

**Skills**:

- Experience in caregiving or related fields such as nursing home or home care
- Proficiency in meal preparation and medication administration
- Knowledge of atusim care and experience in assisting individuals with cognitive impairments
- Ability to provide compassionate care and support to seniors in assisted living facilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients

This is a 1 on 1 situation. Working with the same person daily. Leering his care needs and how to best support him day to day. Hours are flexible.

This job does not offer lmia. It is best suited for someone able to commute.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 50 per week

- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- River Philip, NS B0M 1V0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- supportive care: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
