There's a seat at our table for you... **_ Position Summary:_** Presents a positive image to Gordon Food Service (GFS) customers through courteous, on-time, and accurate deliveries of GFS products. Serves as liaison between GFS management and customers. Communicates all customer issues and concerns. Operates GFS equipment in a professional and safe manner demonstrating attention to detail, safe work habits, working knowledge of Tractor-Trailer, refrigerated van and the ability to deal effectively with customers and the public. Must pass the required sales service representative physical ability test for area hired. **What We Offer**: - Medical, Dental, Prescription Drug, and EAP Benefits after 30 days of employment - FULL flex benefits program - Steel toe boot reimbursement - Company matching RRSP - Profit Sharing - 125-year, family-owned and operated company history - Pay for performance incentive program after 3 months - Local routes -> guaranteed to be home every day - Family culture and advancement opportunities **What We Require**: - **Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract** - Eligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification. - Strong mechanical aptitude. - Professional demeanor under stressful situations. - Physically fit and prior experience of repeatedly lifting, stacking, pulling and carrying heavy items (up to 80 lbs) - Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency - Previous professional driving experience is preferred - Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions - Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing - Ability to work independently and in a team environment - Must be goal-oriented with a positive, “can do” attitude - This position requires punctuality and attention to detail **Responsibilities Include**: - Responsibilities include correctly offloading products, recording of delivery information, accepting payment for goods when required, and ensuring operational vehicle safety in all aspects. - Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships - Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift) - Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban and rural routes - Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reporting - Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices - Following health and safety and safe work procedures GFSCA We thank all applicants for their interest, however only those selected for the next stage will be contacted.
