We are currently seeking a **Freelance Videographer** to join our team on a flexible, on-call basis for a variety of client shoots and internal projects.
As a Freelance Videographer, you will be responsible for capturing compelling visuals during events, client sessions, and studio shoots. You’ll work closely with our creative team to bring each project’s vision to life through professional filming techniques, a keen eye for detail, and storytelling through video.
This position is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented individual who thrives in dynamic environments and is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Film high-quality video content during events, weddings, brand shoots, interviews, and other productions as assigned.
- Set up and operate professional video equipment including cameras, gimbals, microphones, and lighting gear.
- Collaborate with creative directors, producers, and team members to understand shot lists, visual goals, and overall storytelling direction.
- Scout and prepare shooting locations, ensuring the best lighting and sound conditions.
- Ensure consistent framing, exposure, and camera movement that aligns with JOP Studios’ visual style and brand.
- Manage and safely transport your own video equipment to and from shoot locations.
- Organize, label, and deliver raw footage in a timely and efficient manner to the post-production team.
- Maintain clear communication and flexibility with on-call schedules and last-minute project requests.
**Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a Videographer, with a strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing a range of creative work (**wedding events**, portraits, documentary, etc.).
- Proficient in operating DSLR/mirrorless or cinema-grade cameras (e.g., Sony, Canon).
- Solid understanding of cinematography principles — framing, depth of field, lighting setups, and audio capture.
- Experience with external audio equipment (e.g., wireless lav mics, boom mics) and lighting modifiers.
- Ability to work independently on-location and adapt to changing shoot conditions and client needs.
- Strong organizational skills for managing shoot logistics and footage delivery.
- Reliable mode of transportation and willingness to travel across the GTA as needed.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends and evenings, on occasion.
- Must drive and have a **G/G2 license**
