Recreation Attendant Kinsmen Leisure Centre

This posting is for multiple hourly year-round positions, working a minimum of 10 hours or 2 shifts per week. Shift hours range from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. _
As a Recreation Attendant at the Kinsmen Leisure Centre, you will interact with guests to provide high-quality customer service as well as complete ongoing facility maintenance.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare the facility for use by guests by ensuring proper room set-up and a safe, clean, and presentable facility
- Clean and maintain programs rooms, washrooms, lobbies, and other public areas
- Assist lifeguard staff with building maintenance
- Greet rental clients and ensure all groups are aware of emergency procedures and protocols
- Interact with facility guests, staff, and contractors in a positive and professional manner
- Understand operational procedures for building emergencies and assist lifeguard staff in the event of an emergency
- Outdoor work including litter control, snow removal, and ground maintenance
- Receiving shipments that arriveMonitor the Broadmoor Lake Spray Park operation from May to September, which includes turning on the spray features, problem solving operational issues, completing water tests, completing backwashes, public education, and first aid administration
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Exceptional customer services skills with the ability to interact with facility guests in a positive manner
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong time management and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to changing needs
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to use good judgement when assisting customers
- Minimum completion of Grade 10
- High school diploma plus experience in a customer service setting is an asset
- Daytime availability is an asset
- Availability for evening, weekend, and statutory holiday shiftsCurrent Intermediate First Aid and CPR certification is required
**Conditions of Employment**
- Submission of Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, and room set-up/takedownAbility to complete WHMIS certification upon employment (provided)
