**Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our team at MDR Brands. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of delivering high-quality products to our customers.

**Position: Slurry Technician / QC Technician**

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate production equipment including ovens, tumblers, slurry tanks, slurry sprayers, and powder dispensers.
- Assemble and disassemble equipment components for start-up and shut-down procedures.
- Perform minor maintenance on production equipment as needed.
- Clean equipment as required to meet hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Conduct quality checks every 30 minutes, including:

- Measuring bulk density.
- Performing organoleptic/sensory evaluations (taste, smell, texture).
- Lift and transfer 50 lb (23 kg) bags of ingredients multiple times throughout the shift.
- Perform additional quality checks as assigned by the Quality Team.
- Assist the production team with break time coverage and management.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Quality Management, or a related field; OR
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the food industry as an equipment operator or QC technician.

**Skills**:

- Strong sensory skills and a good sense of taste are essential.
- Sensory training experience is an asset.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
- Able to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions safely and effectively.
