**JOB PROFILE**

The _Mechanical Manufacturing CAD Technician_ will also play a key role on our design team to develop drawings and documents for production of Bevco’s conveyor systems and packaging machinery.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education**
- Diploma in mechanical technology, Engineering, Computer Aided Design or similar field

**Technical Skill Requirements**
- Minimum 1 years of on-the-job experience with AutoCAD
- BOOST - Trumpf Laser Programming an Asset
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, CNC, sheet metal work, laser or waterjet cutting)
- Familiar with stainless steel sheet metal types and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
- Knowledge of typical standards for drawing development and drafting and creating electronic drawing files for manufacturing
- Experience designing packaging machines and mechanical systems and components, including conveyor chains, shafts, motors, sprockets, gears, pneumatics, etc. an asset
- Familiarity with typical conveyor components
- Solidworks Experience an asset
- Knowledge of thermodynamics and electrical/controls components

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**General**
- Consider Bevco’s Motto at all times and use it to drive your organizational purpose and decision-making processes
- Represent Bevco in a professional and positive manner

**Part Processing and Laser Programming**
- Extract parts from.dwg files and create individual.dxf files for each part
- Import parts into the TruTops BOOST laser programming software & nest parts onto sheet metal blanks for laser cutting
- Ensure parts are programmed with the correct quantity and on the correct sheet thickness.
- Ensure parts are nested efficiently to minimize waste metal and cutting time

**Mechanical Design and Drafting**
- Use ingenuity, steel fabrication and mechanical design experience to custom design a variety of mechanical components
- Prepare 3D SolidWorks shop drawings for various sections of conveyors and other machinery
- Prepare AutoCAD shop drawings for sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining and assembly
- Develop 2D packaging line layouts for the Sales and Design team using AutoCAD
- Prepare chain pull calculations for conveyors
- Design and specify motors/gearboxes for conveyor systems and prepare drive schedules

**Shop Production**
- Print production packages including key documents for each project and co-ordinate with production workers to transfer the information from
- Participate in weekly Production Meetings
- Prepare Production Checklists for each project
- Prepare Scope of Work, Purchase Requisition and BOM for projects
- Program and operate CNC router table for custom plastic profiles

**Testing**
- Conduct product testing initiatives
- Conduct factory acceptance testing (FATs)

**Quality Control and Close Out Documents**
- Review and inspect production on the floor for quality control purposes
- Document production and crating with photographs
- Create crating list /shipping manifest
- Update or create manuals for equipment/conveyors

**General Mechanical Design**
- Work with Sales, Marketing, Design, Production and Shipping/Receiving from the sales and conceptual design stages of the project through production and to the completion of the installation on site
- Help drive continuous improvement, efficiencies and cost effectiveness in our current product lines
- Develop protocols to reduce defect and error occurrences in our product Design and production
- Consider manufacturability in the development of designs

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
