As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling transactions, managing cash flow, assisting customers, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for all guests. You will also help maximize revenue through upselling, coordinate group events, and ensure that the facility runs smoothly. This role also includes handling the service of alcoholic beverages and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

**Part-time, permanent position**
Must have availability for evening and weekend shifts

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Perform opening cash and facility duties to ensure everything is set up for the day’s operations.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Count till(s) and provide funds for deposit at the end of the shift.
- Maximize revenue through effective upselling techniques to customers.
- Efficiently fill the day’s racing schedule, ensuring smooth operations.
- Responsible service of alcoholic beverages, adhering to legal and safety guidelines.
- Coordinate group events, assist with booking, and conduct award ceremonies.
- Provide accurate information to customers in person and over the phone.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the lobby, banquet room, lounge, and restroom areas.
- Perform specific facility cleaning duties as assigned by management.
- Perform closing duties to ensure the facility is clean and prepared for the next day’s operations.

**Basic Requirements**
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be Smart Serve Certified (or able to obtain certification within the first month).
- Must be available to work evening and weekend shifts.

**Education and/or Experience**
- High school diploma or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Reasoning Ability**
- Ability to deal with problems that involve a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

**Language Skills**
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, both individually and in groups, and respond to questions.

**Mathematical Skills**
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

**Work Environment**
- The work is primarily performed in an indoor environment with some exposure to the outdoors through openings in the building.
- The work environment is typically noisy due to the nature of the facility's activities.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.20-$17.70 per hour
