A career in operational risk management at National Bank means contributing to the Bank’s transformation and having a direct impact on clients. As an Operational Risk Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the P&C sectors in identifying and managing their operational risks.

It’s a unique opportunity to work with rigorous, passionate people who want to bring value to P&C initiatives and processes. You will report to the Senior Manager, P&C Operational Risk Management, and your role will be to help ensure that the Bank’s operational risk management framework is followed and applied.

Your role:

- Carry out various tasks related to managing operational losses for the P&C sector:

- Report operational events that exceed $250K
- Report losses in accordance with Integrated Risk Management and OSFI requirements
- Carry out all activities related to the monthly close of operational losses
- Support the ORM team and act as an expert on operational losses and events
- Contribute to the team’s operational risk activities:

- Create action plans in Connected Risk and the follow-up for some of them
- Collect quarterly results of key risk indicators and follow up on them with various stakeholders
- Help colleagues with risk analyses
- Collect and analyze data to prepare various documents and reports
- Collaborate with various stakeholders on the sector’s operational risk management activities
- Participate in projects related to risk management

Required skills:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or in a related field, accounting title (CPA) preferred, and 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in/knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping, and monthly reconciliation
- Knowledge of Personal and Commercial Banking sector processes and activities
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and manage priorities
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will work closely with colleagues outside Quebec

Preferred skills
- Experience in/knowledge of operational risk management or a related field, an asset
- Autonomy, attention to detail, rigour, and professionalism
