New employees must provide documentation/proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status, a 2-step TB screening, as well as proof of immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox) prior to their start date at St. Mary’s General Hospital. Staff will require clearance from Employee Health and Wellness before they are able to begin any position within SMGH.

**Position Summary**:
St. Mary’s General Hospital is seeking temporary support in the following roles:

- General Support (included but not limited to clerks/clerical support, housekeeping and general labour tasks, etc)

**Housekeeping Aides **are responsible for the cleaning/servicing of building areas including the moving of furniture, equipment and supplies in and around hospital departments. The Housekeeping Aide performs a variety of duties to maintain neat, orderly and sanitary conditions in the hospital.

**Position Requirements**:
**Housekeeping and General Support**:

- **Grade 12 or equivalent required**:

- **Keyboard skills and computer literacy**:

- **Must have a level of physical fitness suitable to perform the manual tasks of the position;**:

- **Positive work record and good attendance record is essential**:

- **Demonstrates leadership and a commitment to healthy work relationships through excellent communication**:

- **Completion of a medical terminology certificate and/or other healthcare-related certificate or post-secondary credentials are an asset**:

- **Perform other duties as assigned**

**Preference will be given to**:

- **Applicants who have completed First Aid and/or BCLS training**:

- **Applicants who have completed a medical terminology certificate and/or other healthcare-related certificates or post-secondary credentials**:

- **Applicants with demonstrated experience in a similar role and industry**

**Applicants who can demonstrate that they meet the following criteria**:

- **2-Step TB Testing completed within the last 12 months;**:

- **Immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox)**:

- **Vulnerable Sector criminal record check completed within the last 6 months**
