Plumbing Instructor

Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver high-quality instruction in accordance with the accredited training program curricula for the Plumbing trade.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet educational standards and address the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and support students in achieving their learning goals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the plumbing industry, including best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to ensure the program aligns with current industry standards and employer needs.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay current in the field of plumbing.

Qualifications:

- Hold a valid journeyperson certificate in the Plumbing trade.
- Have completed, or be currently enrolled in, a provincially recognized teaching certificate program, such as Teaching for Learning in Applied Education (TFL), formerly known as the Certificate in Adult Education, or Technical Vocational Teacher Education.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a supportive and effective learning environment.
- Experience in adult education and a passion for teaching and mentoring students.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous teaching experience in a technical or vocational setting.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms and digital teaching tools.
- Experience in the development of curriculum materials for vocational and/or trades training.
