Reports to: Production Supervisor

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Helping machine operators by supplying or holding materials or tools and cleaning work areas and equipment
- Lifting raw materials and finished products, packaging items and preparing them for shipment
- Loading and unloading items from machines, conveyors and conveyances
- Sorting products according to weight, grade, size and composition of materials
- Placing products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting or wrapping
- Removing products, machine attachments and waste material from machines
- Moving finished products, raw materials, tools or equipment between storage and work areas of plant and warehouse by hand or using hand trucks or powered-lift trucks

**REQUIRED COMPETENCIES**
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
- Previous related experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Ability to communicate effectively using the spoken word in English
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions provided in written or drawing form
- Good mathematical skills
- Ability to accurately read/understand a tape measure (metric/standard)
- Ability to identify problems and seek help in solving them
- Understanding of common workplace safety and environment practices
- Ability to meet attendance/punctuality requirements
- Ability to work shift-work
- Physical ability to continually handle objects weighing up to 20 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate forklift would be an asset.

**EDUCATION**
- Grade 12 Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
