Field Service Technician

We are looking for a talented Field Service Technician who can hit the ground running. As a Field Service Technician for IPS, you will possess strong repair skills and provide unmatched service to our customers. You will perform vibration signature analysis, thermographic imaging and various electrical tests as you diagnose and repair units. Field Service Technician will complete on-site troubleshooting, repairs and testing. This challenging role requires excellent analytical skills, communication and customer service. Applicant must demonstrate a willingness to learn and explain, backed up by a solid educational and / or work experience background. Requires computer skills and relevant hands-on experience in electrical controls and power systems. Must be willing to work overtime and available for out of town jobs. Mechanical Skills and / or Electric Motor aptitude is a plus.

**Key Responsibilities and Expectations**:

- Customer site field services such as: preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installation, and start-up assistance on the following typical electrical and mechanical installations.
- AC and DC Adjustable Speed Drives
- AC and DC Motors
- Solid State Starters
- Electric Fans and Air Systems
- Generators
- Protection Relays
- Switchgear and controls all voltages
- Dry and liquid filled transformers
- Uninterruptable power supplies
- Circuit breakers
- Servo motors and controllers
- Provide training of above electrical products
- Removal and installation of motors, drives, and related equipment
- Provide technical reports of work performed
- Prepare notes and follow-up with customers

**Qualifications and Competencies**:

- Electrician’s license or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years experience in applicable field
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Proficient in the use of all testing and troubleshooting equipment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Able to understand and work within processes and systems
- Electric motor experience

**Additional Requirements**:
Work safely and adhere to customer safety requirements- Be willing to work overtime, weekdays and weekends, and be available for 24/7 response to customer emergencies
- Be able to communicate both orally and in writing
- Have the ability to relate well with co-workers professionally, knowledgeably and respectfully
- Be able to travel on short notice and spend occasional nights away from home
