**Position Summary**:
The Audio-visual & Cable technician is responsible to install and maintain cable TVs as well as cabling system for the tenants in independent living and IPTV for residents in long term care, run the live streaming for live events and for the post production of these events, cut and edit of video from different video sources, record meetings and presentations with video cameras, maintenance and repair of equipment used to enhance live events, such as microphones, lighting and sound mixing equipment as, video recorders.

They are responsible to coordinate the content and scheduling of the company’s various display screens for Digital Signage, coordinate graphics used in displays and provide technical support for teleconferences. Coordinate all audio-visual events outside the halls which include being responsible for the setting up, operating, coordinating of the events. They will also be expected to assist in halls when the requirement is necessary. Oversee the general maintenance and ensure daily operations of audio and video equipment are in functional order, which include but are not limited to projectors, speakers and TV’s. They will perform related additional duties as required and assigned and assist needs of users and volunteers under direction of the Director Facilities and IT Coordinator.

The Media Production Technician is privy to confidential information regarding the staff and overall operations of Holland Christian Homes. It is an expectation that any information the Environmental Services Manager is provided with, regarding any issue or matter, will be kept strictly confidential. Breach of this confidentiality may be grounds for progressive disciplinary action up to and / or including dismissal.

**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Troubleshoot cable issues in apartment unit/building and give assistance or escalate to cable provider
- Install cable TV, IPTV and internet modems (when required) before move-in date for tenants in the apartment unit
- Provide technical assistance to residents/tenants with any cable, IPTV, internet and telephone related issues and escalate problems when required
- Work with service providers/MSPs to troubleshoot escalated issues
- Oversee operation and quality of AV technology to ensure equipment is in good condition
- Run AV, Live stream equipment using multiple cameras
- Upload Videos of events online for the community
- Evaluate equipment needs and notify IT coordinator of need to repair or replace as well as contacting relevant service providers to complete repairs
- Troubleshoot basic computer related issues and provide IT support to staff when required
- Plan, organize and implement the maintenance and operation of performance-related equipment at the various venues, including lights and lighting console, sound equipment, video projector, cameras, microphones, sound console, speakers, special effects equipment, rigging system, IT equipment, Livestreaming and other technical systems used during events, rehearsals, performances, and academic assessments
- Program and run sound equipment, lighting equipment, video projector, IT equipment, rigging controls and other technical systems during performances and productions
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with production equipment, monitor scene shop work space and the security of all equipment
- Setup of equipment, including AV equipment, P.A systems
- Utilize proper safety practices and procedures in lines with AV equipment, and ensure all people understand safety
- Maintain a variety of files and records of equipment and manuals in conjunction with the Technology department
- Ensure that sufficient spares are stocked to maintain or replace equipment for which responsibility is held, including consumables
