Patient is male with ALS. He is non-verbal, has no functional muscle movement, and fully dependent on others for his care. He requires repositioning on demand 1-3 times per night. This job provides respite to family caregivers.

Job duties include:

- Job begins immediately
- Reposition onto back or side as requested, adjusting for comfort.
- Staying awake for the whole time, as you must be able to hear him call you. He can no longer speak, but can make vocalization sounds to get your attention.
- Monitor external ventilator to ensure seal of mask is fine.
- Full training provided, and family caregiver is home at all times during shift.

**Experience**:

- Some caregiving experience is required; the job can be learned quickly. We need you to stay awake and in the room the whole night and be committed to our patient's comfort and needs.
- We need a consistently reliable and committed and caring individual who wants to help in the care of our patient, and help his family get some rest
- working with paralysed, or nonverbal patients would be an asset, as would knowing how a BiPap machine works.
- PSW or nursing experience would be helpful, but not required

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $135.00 per day

Expected hours: 16 per week
