The Mental Wellness Adult Counsellor will report to the Director of Health and Community Services. As a member of the Mental Wellness Team, the Adult Counsellor will be responsible for administration, individual counselling, and program development and implementation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES HIGHLIGHTS
- Provides social work services to clients including assessments, treatment plan development, counselling, program development/implementation and social service navigation.
- Facilitates, develops, administers and evaluates Adult Mental Wellness programs.
- Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of the legislation related to the provision of clinical mental health services, with a strong knowledge about those provisions in the legislation affecting the mandate of the prograM/Facility (e.g., Mental Health Act).
- Works collaboratively with other members of the Mental Wellness Team and interprofessional team.
- Knowledge and experience with referral processes and triage, system navigation, community referrals, assessing and treating individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Completion of Bachelor of Social Work or master’s degree in social work.
- 3-5 years’ relevant work experience in a community based and/or primary health care setting, including work with adults.
- Membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service.
- Workers (OCSWSSW) or be eligible for registration.
- Knowledge of social work values and ethics, theory, and established practices of clinical social work.
- Knowledge of urban Indigenous community and experience work with Indigenous persons.
- Training and experience related to client care for people from Indigenous, geriatric, and addictions and mental health populations.
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality and safekeeping of agency records and documentation.
