**The Opportunity**
The BC Hotel Association (BCHA) is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and digitally savvy **Social Media & Communications Coordinator** for a full-time seasonal co-op position.

**Position Overview**
In this role, you'll play a central part in growing the BCHA’s online presence and supporting brand communications across key platforms. Working closely with the Communications Manager, you’ll develop engaging content, create captivating reels, and support communication strategies that promote the BCHA’s programs, services, and advocacy work.

**Key Responsibilities**

The Social Media & Communications Coordinator will support and lead content across digital channels, including but not limited to:

- Managing and creating content for BCHA social media platforms, with a focus on Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X (Twitter)
- Filming, editing, and publishing engaging videos and reels that highlight industry trends, member stories, and BCHA initiatives
- Designing branded assets (e.g. social graphics, event collateral, presentation decks) in line with BCHA brand standards
- Collaborating with the team to develop marketing plans for events, conferences, and campaigns
- Assisting with live coverage of events and community moments
- Updating the BCHA website and member portal, including events calendar and news items
- Collecting content performance insights and contributing to monthly analytics reporting
- Supporting stakeholder communications, including outreach to members and partners
- Assisting in the planning and promotion of events, conferences, and webinars
- Additional communications duties as needed

**What We’re Looking For**

You are a natural storyteller with a sharp eye for design, a love for hospitality, and a strong grasp of what works on digital. You take initiative, welcome feedback, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

**Qualifications**:

- 1+ years of experience in communications and/or digital marketing
- Experience managing or contributing to professional social media accounts (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X)
- Proficiency in short-form video creation, editing (e.g. Reels, TikToks), and basic design platforms (e.g. Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different platforms
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
- Familiarity with WordPress considered a bonus
- Experience with basic analytics tools (e.g. Instagram Insights, LinkedIn Analytics, or Google Analytics) considered an asset
- Interest in the hotel, travel, or tourism industry is a plus
- Background in hospitality, tourism, or accommodations is an asset

**Location**:
Hybrid - Minimum two days in-office at the BCHA’s Vancouver office (970 - 1050 West Pender St, Vancouver, BC V6E 3S7)

**Schedule**: Monday to Friday **Job Type**: Full-time, Seasonal Co-op
