**Job Summary**:
The Analyst role in Finance department is responsible for completeness, accuracy, and integrity of financial results in compliance with JGAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS. The position prepares and maintains series of financial reports and compiles government regulatory returns to OSFI (Office of Superintendent Financial Institutions), CRA (Canada Revenue Agency), and Statistics Canada.
**Primary Accountabilities**:Financial Reporting - responsibilities include**:
- Responsible for completeness, accuracy, and integrity of financial results in compliance with GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS.
- Performs month-end close processes, including Balance Sheet and P/L reconciliation and posting various journal entries.
**Projects - responsibilities include**:
- Coordinates with New York America head office, IT, Business Solution team to resolve outstanding issues.
- Involved in various implementation projects and supports VP and Director with ad hoc analysis
- Improves operational procedure manuals and adopt stronger internal control framework
- Support AP initiatives to enhance controls and operation efficiencies
**Taxation - responsibilities include**:
- Support transfer pricing processes and controls
- Prepares sales tax and income tax return, as needed
**Technical Skills**:
- Advance level in Microsoft Excel (Macros)
- Required experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint
- Experience in large volume of data and multi-million dollar transactions
- Experience in reconciliation, data analysis, problem solving skills
**Experience Required**:
- Minimum experience required 3+ years in accounting and financial reporting
- Understanding of IFRS
- Ability to work in a fast-aced environment
- System implementation experience is an asset
**Education & Training**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA, CA, or near completion of CPA designation
