Kitchen Server

As a Kitchen Server in a long-term care facility, your main role is to assist with food service operations and provide exceptional customer service to residents. You'll work closely with the Kitchen Manager or Dietary Supervisor to ensure meals are served efficiently, meeting the dietary requirements and preferences of the residents.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in food preparation and serving according to the planned menu and dietary guidelines.
- Plate meals accurately, ensuring proper presentation and portion control.
- Set up dining areas, including tables, chairs, tableware, and condiments.
- Distribute and collect trays and carts, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
- Support meal delivery to residents' rooms, if needed.
- Handle special dietary requests or restrictions with care and accuracy.
- Greet residents, assist with menu selection, and provide a friendly dining experience.
- Respond to resident concerns or complaints, reporting them to appropriate staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including tables, chairs, and floors.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, practicing proper hygiene and handling.
- Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment according to guidelines.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff, dietary team, and other departments for smooth operations.
- Communicate resident requests, concerns, and feedback to appropriate staff.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and educational programs as required.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous food service experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/carry trays or equipment.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- **Can arrange own transportation** to commute to the facility.
