Charlotte Products Ltd currently has an opening for a Inventory/Purchasing Clerk. This is a full-time, temporary position with potential to move to a permanent hire. Working 40 hours a week with potential for overtime depending on the business needs. The contract will last for 6 months.
We're looking for an energetic and passionate person to join our team for a temporary Inventory/Purchasing Clerk. This role is responsible for processing purchasing transactions and maintaining inventory of materials, equipment, and stock for the Warehouse - plus so much more This role is located in Peterborough, ON and reports directly to the Production Manager.
What else is the Production Associate Responsible for?
- Review the warehouse inventory using a combination of protocols and physical counts
- Compares inventory to office records such as production orders or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory
- Examines items in inventory for defects, wear or damage and reports information to Warehouse Manager
- Receiving: all administrative functions related to receiving all inbound freight (vendors and branch transfers)
- Filing: responsible to ensure all truck logs and invoicing is stored in a safe and organized manner, and to ensure direct access to these records when required
- Inventory Management: responsible to enter consignment inventory order and manage the process to get the inventory back into stock or invoiced to customers
- Negative Inventory: responsible to run a negative list weekly, review, investigate and correct all negative inventory
- Organizes and maintains warehouse for efficient material storage and handling, maintain labelling system on each stock item, manually stocks inventory shelving with stock items received or returned
- Work with company department managers to determine purchasing needs and requirements for Production
- Perform all purchasing functions such as issuing purchase orders (POs), invoice creation, pricing verification, payment authorization, and working with accounting systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Conditions may cause some stress or physical discomfort due to exposure to:
- Repetitive lifting -Temperature variations
- Handling chemicals -Shift work
- Moving product in excess of 50 lbs. -Time constraints
- Noise
- High intensity physical activities add up to and average of six to seven hours a day
- Frequent exposure to moderately disagreeable internal and external conditions
- Works in heated but not air-conditioned environment
- Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing and reaching
- Ability to perform under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
**Experience**:
- Working knowledge of inventory control practices
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, and Word.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Job tasks call for a higher level of acquired knowledge in warehousing
- Raymond Reach Certification and Experience considered an asset
- Commitment to accuracy and detail oriented
- Job calls for ability to handle powered machinery
- Job calls for ability to do basic math, and ability to problem solve
**Education**:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 Years of inventory control experience
