Reporting to the Service Supervisor, the Service Technician 1 will be expected to travel to customer locations throughout Calgary and the surrounding areas to perform Window and Door repair work as well as resolve customer inquiries.

At Ply Gem Canada, our Service Technicians - Windows & Doors, are an important face of our company. They provide warranty and service of our window and door products for our residential and renovation customers on a daily basis. This work includes glass replacements, hardware replacements and installation assessments.

As a Level 1 Tech, you’ll be completing our Enhanced Service Package and handling warranty repairs or replacements. We are looking for customer service orientated people to join our fast paced and high-energy environment.

General Responsibilities:

- Follow all corporate and departmental policies and procedures
- Exercise safe, efficient and professional work habits
- Operate company vehicle in a safe manner
- Report any vehicle repairs to your Supervisor
- Report problems that interfered with completion of work to your Supervisor
- Deal with unexpected issues in the field
- Perform inspections and advise on warranty issues

Position Requirements:

- Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract
- Great verbal and written communication skills (English) and strong mechanical aptitude
- Previous construction experience would be an asset ( e.g. siders, roofers with a comfort level working with hand tools, building envelope, glass replacement)
- Residential Windows and Doors experience desirable
- Punctual, reliable, self-motivated and ability to work overtime / flexible hours as required
- Facility to work outdoors, 12 months of the year
- Able to lift heavy objects and comfortable working from ladders or scaffolding.
- At times, warranty work will require working from heights up to 40’ above grade.
