Victoria, Canada Pure Vanilla Full time

Pure Vanilla savoury side is looking toward the fall and we have a rare opening for a full-time cook position (or possibly two part-time spots). We are seeking an experienced cook who is looking to join a well-organized, friendly and hard-working kitchen.

Shifts begin nice and early (6, 7 and 7:30 am). Done for the day by early to mid-afternoon. Must be available to work weekends.

We value quality, speed, freshness, consistency and conviviality. We are currently hiring for a line position where speed, organization and people skills are a must. The morning starts at 7 or 7:30am, communicating with other team members, serving breakfast orders as they come in, and stocking the line with sandwiches, wraps, etc in anticipation of a busy lunch. Prep and line work continues throughout the shift, and the line is covered by another cook while you sit down for a paid half-hour break at the staff table or the beautiful back patio. The day ends with thorough close, leaving the kitchen clean and stocked for the next day.

Experience with such tasks as ordering and receiving, preparing and cooking large batch soups, and opening and closing kitchens will all be considered favourably.

Tips have been averaging $2-3 per hour, or $400-$500/ month for a full time cook..
