**Baker Job Description**

Around My Gluten-Free Table is a dedicated gluten-free facility that provides high quality baked goods and prepared food items to those who need and choose to follow a gluten-free diet. Everything is made from scratch in small quantities to allow for variety and control. We are looking for a skilled and creative Baker to join our team and prepare delicious baked goods for our customers. As a baker, you will be responsible for following recipes, mixing ingredients, baking muffins, scones, cakes, pies, cookies, and other pastries. You will also be in charge of decorating and displaying your products, ensuring quality and freshness, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. We are looking for someone who is able to work on their own within our team in a timely and consistent manner with a high output.

**Responsibilities**
- Follow recipes and instructions to prepare various types of baked goods, such as cakes, pies, cookies, muffins, scones etc.
- Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients using mixers, blenders, scales, and other baking tools.
- Bake products in ovens at the right temperature and time.
- Display products in an attractive and appealing manner.
- Ensure the quality and freshness of products by checking the appearance, taste, texture, and expiration dates.
- Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration.
- Keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area by following hygiene and safety standards.
- Order and stock ingredients and supplies as needed.
- Keep records of production, inventory

**Hours**

30-40 hours a week, contract position with the possibility of Full time at the end of the contract

Monday-Saturday

Overtime at holidays is expected

Lunch is provided

**Requirements and Skills**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven 5 year experience as a baker or pastry chef in a bakery, restaurant, or similar setting
- Knowledge of baking techniques, recipes, and equipment
- Ability to work with various ingredients, such as flour, sugar, eggs, butter, yeast, etc.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Experience with cake decoration techniques
- Excellent time-management skills
- Strong communication, time and resource management, and planning skills.
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment to safely and effectively operate mixers, processor, ovens etc.
- Creativity and attention to detail
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and stand for long hours
- Food safety certification
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
