**Job description**
As a **System Administrator II**, you will have experience using/troubleshooting a wide variety of hardware and software problems and be able to grasp new concepts quickly. Your primary responsibility will be supporting internal and remote users to provide timely technical support of the computing environments.
This Information Technology role will be based out of the Kitchener, ON location with support responsibility for multiple company locations. Periodic travel to Cambridge, Guelph, Woodstock, and Stratford will be required when remote support will not suffice. Reporting to and working in concert with the Director of IT on various technology initiatives to support business objectives and work on various local and enterprise projects.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide the technical support to the company ERP system
- Utilize cloud-based Help Desk to maintain trouble-tickets and a company system of records (_inventory_) for logging and tracking IT and equipment for use by employees
- Procurement - source, recommend and purchase new IT software and hardware related products for the company and its employees about being fiscally responsible and in consultation with IT management for approval on expenditures
- Supporting, maintaining, monitoring PC & server endpoints server and\or cloud-base antivirus portal
**Perform network administration tasks, which includes but not limited to**:
- Support, configure, maintain, and upgrade networks and in-house servers
- Support, configure, monitor cloud-based services including services that protecting our cloud environment.
- Monitor and execute required software updates
- Ensure network connectivity, data backups and disaster recovery protocols with an understanding of regulatory requirements
- Monitor network performance (_availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency_) and test for weaknesses
- Set up, maintain, audit user accounts, permissions and passwords while ensuring a system of records and documentation
**Requirements**:
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Information System Technician or Computer Science or related field (2-year Diploma or higher) with a minimum of 5-years of experience in an Information Technology position
- Ability and willingness to learn and implement new technologies
- Possesses strong oral and written communications skills; able to articulate ideas and listen effectively
- Experience with IOS and Android
- Experience with Nutanix, Cisco, Lenovo, Ruckus, EXAgrid technologies would be an asset
- Experience with ShoreTel/Mitel phone systems would be an asset
