Lafarge Construction is based in Edmonton, AB and is currently seeking a seasonal, full-time Mixer Operator
- **Position Description**
The accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- **Health and Safety**: Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Ensure all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner. Obey safety guidelines when on when on public roads, construction sites and operations.
- **Environment**: Establish the environment as a priority in daily activities and act as a steward to the environment. Demonstrate a commitment to meet or exceed environmental compliance.
- **Customer Focus**: Ensure good customer relations. Collect payment for materials when required. Must be able to communicate effectively and positively with customers. Assist other drivers at the job site and plant when necessary.
- **Delivery & Production**: Maneuver truck into loading or unloading positions, by following all best practices to include identifying all hazards and communicating with spotter. Loading and unloading chutes to distribute concrete while walking over a variety of terrain.
- **Truck Maintenance & Image**: Perform daily Pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Check vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Responsible for the maintaining truck cleanliness and basic truck maintenance.
- **Communication & Reporting**: Responsible for the documentation of material delivered. Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.

**Relationships with Others Jobs**
- Reports to Ready Mix supervisor
- Works closely with Batcher and Plant Personnel
- Works closely with Quality Control, Sales, and Operations

**Specific Accountabilities**
- Safety Performance objective is “Zero”
- Responsible to achieve targeted KPI’s i.e. safety, service, volume delivered
- Customer satisfaction

**Qualifications**:
**Education & Work Experience**
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Preference will be given to those with construction and heavy equipment experience.
- Ready Mix Concrete Training will be provided as needed.

**Certifications & Licenses**
- Must have current & valid Class 1 or 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
