As a fast-growing organization, we are seeking a meticulous and experienced bookkeeper to join our team and ensure the financial integrity of our operations.
**Position Overview**:
The Bookkeeper will play a key role in managing the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple business entities. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a wide range of accounting tasks in a fast-paced environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll across multiple business units.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledgers.
- Prepare and process invoices, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Manage and monitor budgets, providing regular updates to management on financial performance.
- Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses.
- Assist with tax preparation, compliance, and liaise with external accountants as needed.
- Implement and maintain bookkeeping systems and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings for multiple entities.
- Monitor expenses, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective actions.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a multi-entity business environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members across various departments.
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience handling payroll and GST/PST filings is an asset.
