What can I expect to do in this role? **As the Manager, Liquidity, you can expect to**: - Invest liquid reserves prudently and cost-effectively according to OFA's Liquidity Management Plan; - Manage the short-term borrowing program on behalf of the Province of Ontario and Ontario Electricity Financing Corporation; - Execute foreign exchange hedging strategies to manage exposures in borrowing and investment transactions; - Monitor global financial markets, maintaining contacts with investment dealers and banks to stay informed on market trends; - Identify financial opportunities to lower borrowing costs, enhance investment returns, and reduce financial risk for the Province of Ontario; - Stay updated on changes in financial markets and maintain contact with Provincial and Federal counterparts, including the Bank of Canada. How do I qualify? **Specialized and Trading Knowledge**: - You have a good understanding of the fixed-income markets that are relevant to treasury management; - You have extensive experience with money market, fixed income, derivatives, and foreign exchange markets; - You can transact various instruments within each market effectively. **Risk Management and Analytical Skills**: - You have a strong appreciation of risk management principles; - You demonstrated the ability to exercise prudent judgment in executing transactions; - You possess excellent quantitative and analytical skills; - You can analyze economic data swiftly to inform investment, borrowing, and hedging decisions. **Communication and Negotiation Skills**: - You have exceptional communication and negotiation skills; - You are effective in dealings with foreign and domestic investment banks, colleagues, and senior management; - You are detail-oriented, responsible, innovative, and collaborative; - You model ethical behaviour and thrive in challenging environments. Technical Knowledge - You have strong working knowledge of financial software packages; - You can analyze a wide range of financial transactions; - You have experience collaborating with programmers and financial engineers to develop or modify internal systems.
