**ROLE PURPOSE**:
TSAIN-KO S-P’ÁTL’-EM (“Tsain-Ko”) has an immediate opening for a Shift Boss. This is a permanent full-time position. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this position is responsible for the safe and productive operation of the operations crew and other duties as assigned. This is a non-truck driving position unless circumstances occur and include other duties as assigned:
**JOB SUMMARY**

**GENERAL DUTIES AND TASKS**:

- Have a focus on safety.
- Follow established traffic patterns avoiding road hazards and other hazardous.
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and complete daily equipment report.
- Report all unsafe mechanical conditions.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment.
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Lead and empower employees in achieving operating targets and improving employee work performance and efficiency through mentorship and feedback.
- Administer the collective agreement, safety, and mine and environmental regulations in a manner consistent with policies and procedures.
- Operate haul trucks in an open-pit mine.
- Understand mine plans and maintenance activities and collaborate closely with evening supervisor and crew personnel to efficiently coordinate mining activities.
- Perform other tasks within the scope of the position.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES**:

- Minimum 5 years demonstrated ability to lead operational activities in an open-pit mining environment.
- ** Possess a valid Open Pit Shift Boss Certificate.**:

- Valid BC Driver's License Class 5 and clean driving record required, Class 3 or higher driver’s license an asset.
- Ability to build, promote and actively participate in a positive working atmosphere.
- Ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail during all hours and weather conditions during a shift.
- Experience with other heavy equipment.
- Possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Effective attention to detail and highly analytical. Problem-solving is a part of your skillset.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability; is honest and trustworthy.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Strong ability to prioritize and develop timelines to fit organizational demands.
- Excellent communication skills, both in writing and face-to-face.
