Inspector

We are looking for an Inspector to perform routine structural inspections on cranes and lifting equipment. Under the guidance of the Inspection Manager, the Inspector performs inspections using non-destructive examination (NDE) techniques using methods such as visual and magnetic particle testing. The Inspector travels to customer locations in Saskatoon and the surrounding area as well as throughout the province. On-the-job training is provided for the role as well as paid training for NDE courses and exams required for certifications.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Set up and calibrate inspection equipment
- Conduct structural inspections and tests on equipment and components
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) in accordance with CSA W178.2 and CGSB standards
- Provide routine repair procedures
- Organize and report inspection results and repair procedures
- Inspect and maintain assigned tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Assist Service Coordinator in managing schedule by providing timely and accurate information
- Log work in company ERP system from the field
- Participate in company and customer safety programs
**Required Qualifications**:
Education
- Grade 12 or GED
- A certificate or diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Heavy Equipment, or related field is not required but would be considered an asset
- MT2, PT2, UT2, or CWB Visual Level 1 inspection certifications are not required but would be considered an asset
Experience
- 0 to 5 years of experience in welding, welding inspection, or NDT
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Mechanical aptitude
- Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Satisfactory near vision acuity and colour vision
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s license
