**Position**: Junior Purchaser (Purchasing Assistant)
**Location**: 172 Belfield Rd, Toronto, ON
NutriAg Ltd. a leader in Agriscience, is looking for the best and brightest to join our team.
This role will be assisting purchasing and maintaining optimal inventory levels, sourcing raw materials and helping oversee the material cost reduction program, analyzing market and delivery systems throughout the supply chain to assess present and future material availability while optimizing costs.
**Responsibilities**:
- Research and secure new potential raw material vendors. Ensuring they meet regional requirements for registration.
- Develop key relationships with vendors to gather up to date material information
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain the best price and service.
- Implement change and develop new processes to better procure goods and services.
- Provide periodic reporting for management on purchasing, controls and processes
- Work with the finance team to ensure invoices are accurately processed and discrepancies are resolved.
- Conduct basic market research to identify potential suppliers and products.
- Assist in resolving issues related to damaged goods, late deliveries, or inventory shortages.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure purchasing needs are aligned with company objectives.
- Provide administrative support to the purchasing department, including filing, data entry and report generation
- Full cycle purchasing from placing purchase order to receiving of inventory
- Monitor and purchase raw materials to meet production requirements
- Negotiate payment term, credit limit & lead time and formulate policies with suppliers while ensuring strong relationships with suppliers
- Prepare price analysis of purchases with breakdown of cost components and market price research
- Review, evaluate and manage vendor relationships in terms of cost reduction, on-time delivery and quality control
- Work closely with the Plant Operations to determine raw material requirements to maintain appropriate on-time Finished Goods inventory levels.
- Assist big projects in allocating raw materials and components, meeting challenging/flexible production plans and tight deadlines

**Qualifications**
- University / Post-Secondary Degree
- Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably experience using Microsoft Dynamics Navision
- Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong acumen and affinity for numbers
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a very fast
- paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
- 2 years experience in purchasing/procurement
- experience in Chemical industry
- Previous MRP experience an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong ability to prioritize job tasks
