**Overview**

The Estimator serves as a valuable resource for establishing a clearly defined labor and material breakdown of a specified scope of work with the ability to provide take-offs and breakdowns of labor and material. The Estimator will be asked to coordinate with other departments to ensure that a full-service package quote is provided to the client and the team.

**Responsibilities**

Thoroughly review and interpret project specifications and drawings to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project scope. Solving problems and communicating errors, discrepancies, or questions to the project management team.
- Conduct detailed quantitative surveys of existing conditions to accurately assess project requirements.
- Utilize Bluebeam and other programs to develop quantity takeoffs with attention to specification details.
- Solicits, qualify and negotiate quotes with various vendors to obtain the most economical cost for supplies, equipment and sub-contractor labor.
- Attend and actively participate in on-site tender meetings to gather essential project details.
- Secure competitive pricing from subcontractors, ensuring all quotes are comprehensive and align with project needs.
- Prepare and submit all necessary documents, including bonding, insurance, health and safety documents, and any other prescribed documents at the time of tender submission.
- Identify and estimate additional work required for existing contracts as circumstances arise, ensuring all changes are documented and approved.
- Communicating with trade partners and suppliers to schedule the delivery/installation of materials and labor.
- Estimate costs and lead times for projects and proposals.
- Identifies and creates standard costing.
- Carry out procurement of materials and organize with Project Manager
- Provides coordination and management to both clients and employees throughout the duration of awarded projects for items such as scope, contract reviews, material/supply procurement, submittals, change orders, field coordination, and project close-out tasks.
- Identify potential problems, determine alternatives and implement effective solutions
- Analyzes the success of projects upon completion and identified methods and strategies for future estimating or execution improvement with the Project Manager.
- Provides improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs
- Reviews sales orders, purchase orders, quotes, and drawings for best method of execution. Issue work and purchase orders as required.
- Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
- Transition awarded projects to project management and accounting by creating budgets, schedule of values, schedules, and conducting “hand off” meetings to other team members, etc.
- Provide all required contract documentation and accompanying documents to respective parties involved prior to project commencement.
- Coordinate project start-up activities with clients/consultants and internal production supervisors to ensure a smooth project initiation.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, providing regular updates and reports to clients/consultants and internal supervisors. This includes attending and contributing to on-site meetings as required.
- Prepare and provide all necessary contract close-out documentation, ensuring all project requirements are met and documented.

**Skills**
- Proficiency in construction estimating software including Bluebeam is essential.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Excellent project management abilities, ensuring timely completion of estimates while managing multiple deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies.
- Attention to detail with strong analytical skills for evaluating project specifications and requirements.

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Construction estimating: 3 years (required)
- Landscape Estimating: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Licence (required)
