Orchard View by the Mississippi is a privately owned retirement residence nestled in the beautiful town of Almonte. At Orchard View, we care for seniors with different levels of ability, ranging from assisted living to memory care through to end of life.

**Job Summary**

We are looking for mature, reliable, passionate individuals to join our team as PSW/HSW's. If you love working with people and enjoy providing high quality care to residents, then this is the position for you

Shifts Available include:

- Part-time Day shift (6am - 2pm)
- Part-time Night shift (10pm-6am) [NOTE: Night staff receive an hourly premium plus a shift premium)

**Job Requirements**:
Reporting to the Director of Care, the PSW/HSW plays a supportive role in the Nursing department by providing assistance to residents with all daily living activities including personal care, dining, activities, light housekeeping and socialization.
- **Key Responsibilities**_
- Follow the care plan and assist residents with personal care, hygiene, meals, and daily activities
- Observe residents care and report any changes in health condition
- Escalate any medical emergencies to supervisor or emergency medical services as appropriate
- Respond to resident and family concerns as directed
- Maintain confidential resident information
- Assist with residents' move in and transfers when required
- Other duties as assigned
- **Qualifications**_
- 1-2 years experience providing personal care preferred
- Ability to work with cognitively impaired residents
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must be a Team player who is respectful of others
- Strength to perform tasks that are necessary for the position such as lifting/transferring residents
- Possess current CPR and First Aid certification
- Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check Police Check
- Must have a 2 step TB test completed
- Must be eligible to work in Canada

- Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) training
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
- Relevant certifications related to Supporting Persons with Responsive Behaviours

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 15-20 per week

**Salary**: $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Almonte, ON K0A1A0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- PSW/HSW: 1 year (preferred)
