Part-time Magazine Editor

The responsibilities of this position will include the following:
- You will have shared responsibility for the editorial strategy and direction for the brand, with a mandate to ensure our content is relevant, fun and informative for our intended readership.
- Working within a centrally produced framework, you will develop a local editorial plan for the magazine, with regular sections and feature articles each issue.
- You will work with a team of freelance writers to produce the articles for each issue, and will have responsibility for overseeing their work and ensuring it is delivered in a timely manner.
- Together with the publishers, you will be a local public “ambassador” for the magazine.
- You will personally write some of the local content for each issue.
- You will identify and help to promote local community events in both print and digitally.
- You will create regular updates and content for the website and our social media channels.
This is a part time freelance position, and you will be able to work from home or from our office. Attendance in the office is expected at least once every two weeks.
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person who lives in the area to fill this position. You should have prior experience in editorial planning and a quality portfolio of written work.

- Knowledge of the Adobe Suite is a bonus but not necessary
