Research Centre Coordinator

**Purpose**:
The Centre Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of the Sensorium: Centre for Digital Arts and Technology. promoting arts-based research at the Centre and on campus. and coordinating day-to-day operational activities of the Centre, including its research and community outreach activities.

**Education**:
University Degree in a related field (i.e. Arts, Humanities, Digital Media) or equivalent (i.e. post-secondary Diploma and one year of related experience).

**Experience**:
1-2 years of related work experience in a university, arts, and/or research focused environment providing financial and administrative support, including event coordination. Experience planning meetings and organizing conferences and events is preferred. Knowledge of the arts and humanities is an asset.

**Skills**:

- Strong interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent organizational skills including setting priorities and meeting deadlines, attending accurately to detail, and being punctual and reliable.
- Ability to produce clear and concise documentation and reports.
- Financial administration skills for budget monitoring and reconciliation.
- Project coordination skills to coordinate Centre's operation, multiple research projects and events, including attending accurately to detail.
- Ability to organize and run conferences and meetings.
- Ability to offer committee support and take meeting minutes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to work successfully with a wide range of stakeholders including researchers, students, staff, community groups, and private / public-sector organizations.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team.
- Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and governance related to research and finance is an asset.
