Job description

Serenity Retirement Residence in Barrie is looking for a positive, compassionate individual to join our team as Activity Attendant. **You Care and that is why you have chosen this career.** **You have a smile on your face which brings joy to the seniors you work with daily. **You have a true passion for seniors and maintaining a high level of care always. Experience in the field of assisted retirement living is an asset.
- assesses the needs of residents by interviewing them and meeting with other staff and families
- plans programs that can include arts, crafts, music, exercise, and games
- helps to train volunteers and schedules activities on at least a daily basis
- provides variety
- contacts outside recreation providers such as musicians, movie theaters and museums to develop programs for the home

- Ability to work independently
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to treat residents with respect, dignity and care
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality of resident information
- Ability to work in a flexible environment to meet the needs of the residents, including weekend and holiday coverage, as required

Please note, employment with Serenity Retirement Residence will be contingent on receipt of a current Criminal Reference Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening, Proof of COVID-19 Immunization, TB Screening and employment references.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
