Responsibilities of the Manager, Project Delivery
Reporting to the Director of the Corporate Project Management Office (PMO), the Manager, Project Delivery, oversees project delivery services and assists the PMO in coordinating and implementing APS’ business plan via strategic corporate initiatives and key tactical projects. This involves providing direction to and leading staff in executing PMO-managed projects that align with corporate priorities.
The manager’s role is to coordinate the delivery of the project portfolio and business analyst services, along with external contractor management relations with preferred staffing vendors. These efforts ensure the delivery of major planning, coordination and cross-divisional engagements required for the successful execution of APS’ strategic initiatives. The manager carries out this role in an often rapidly changing environment, requiring a high degree of political acumen. As strategies are generally refined through implementation, the manager is required to be agile and provide strong leadership to direct reports and project teams as they respond to changing priorities and critical deadlines.
Also, the manager must take a systems approach to implementing initiatives, employing PMO resources, exercising project management best practices in resourcing and prioritizing projects, and seeking opportunities to partner and collaborate with other teams and external stakeholders.

- University degree or diploma, with 5+ years of related technical and project management experience
- Strong business analysis and project delivery skills
- Collaborative approach to efficiently define, and action required business and project tasks for investigation, documenting, portfolio prioritization, and implementation.
- Excellent prioritization and time management for a busy work environment
- Supportive communication style when working with non-technical users
- Ability to work remotely while maintaining solid communication with your team and clients

**Skills**:

- Extensive analytical, problem-solving, organizational and evaluation skills
- Analytical skills to evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources and be able to distinguish solution ideas from requirements
- Excellent written and report-writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with staff with varying degrees of IT or project expertise in clarifying and addressing program/system requirements
- Exceptional conflict resolution skills
- Strong leadership skills to effectively negotiate with divisions and departments within APS
- Managerial leadership and group facilitation skills
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate complicated technical solutions to different groups throughout APS
- Well-developed research, statistical and financial analysis skills
- Consultative skills in liaising with technical and non-technical customers
- Well-developed business process modeling and design skills
- Process performance management knowledge
- Working knowledge of PPM software, preferably Microsoft Project Online
- Creative problem-solving to propose innovative solutions that effectively balance cost and risk while also addressing the problems posed by the business
