Construction Estimator / Hazmat, Abatement and Demolition

**Position Description**

**Western Demolition Services** is seeking an experienced estimator for our Edmonton area office.

**Responsibilities**:

- Punctual, dedicated, reliable, willing to learn and grow with **Western Contracting Ltd.**
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and mechanical drawings/blue prints
- Completing site walkthroughs at the bidding stage of the project
- Estimation of the demolition projects that include but not limited to, asbestos abatement, environmental cleanups services such as mold removal, emergency flood and water damage, fire, and smoke damage.
- Create accurate quotation, bidding and tendering for demolition projects.
- Read and understand contracts, blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Build and maintain relationships with, venders, sub-contractors, and clients.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants, to ensure needs are met.
- Ensure that the quality of workmanship meet or exceed company and OH&S standards.
- Maintain and track billing, progress reports and monthly cost projections.
- Provide strong leadership and clear direction to field team members.
- Responsible for accurate quotation of demolition services to all clients
- Clear and consistent communication to project management of contract regarding specific tasks to be completed.
- Marketing sales of demolition services to new clients for future business development

**Education and Qualifications**
- College diploma or university degree, preferably experience in demolition projects.
- Knowledge of Xactimate an asset but not a requirement.
- Flexibility to travel out of town when required.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.

**Experience**
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in demolition, environmental consulting, or hazardous materials industry
- Project Management and estimating background.
- Computer literacy with advanced skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

**Compensation**

Salary based on qualifications and experience

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Edmonton, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
