**Machine Operator - HDPE**

Reporting to the shift supervisor, the operator supervises and participates in daily plant operations. He supervises, supports and trains plant team members in production, maintenance, health and safety, and quality control. The operator coordinates production requirements according to the production plan drawn up by the plant manager or his representative.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Coordinate shift production activities with team members to provide superior customer service.
- Verify that daily production reports are completed accurately and completely.
- Ensure that equipment operates efficiently and that product meets required quality standards.
- Comply with company health and safety policies, procedures, practices and legislative standards.
- Train, coach and develop production team members in the areas of production, function, health and safety, and record keeping.
- Advise and report on improvements and modifications to equipment and machinery to correct inconsistencies and errors.

**Qualifications**:

- 3 to 5 years' experience in a supervisory role in a production environment.
- Detailed knowledge of HDPE manufacturing operations preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills for production decision-making.
- Demonstrate initiative and self-confidence to provide leadership and self-motivation.
- Effective coaching of production team members to reduce equipment breakdowns and improve overall productivity.
- Rotating schedule (four 12 hour shifts + 8 hours on day shift, then night shift, switching biweekly)
