Banquet Server

The Granite Club is looking for a casual Banquet Server who will assist in creating a special event that our Members and their guests will remember. Your ability to work as a team player combined with the necessary service skills will ensure that our members have a memorable experience. As a Banquet Server, you will provide the highest level of customer service to our Members and their guests. Beverages and food items will be provided in a timely and courteous manner. The position also entails the maintenance and enhancement of the Granite Gold level of service necessary to properly represent the Granite Club.

Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction. Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner
- Properly serve the guest food and beverage in a timely, professional manner
- Ensure that the food and beverage is the proper temperature with consistent presentation
- Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds
- Work as a team with coworkers as well as other departments
- Assist in food, beverage, equipment, meeting supplies, china, glass, and silverware inventories on a predetermined basis
- Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees (including other departments)
- Enforce all sanitation procedures including safety guidelines
- Organizing equipment for a function as well as cleaning, maintaining, and looking after equipment during and after functions
- Make sure all store rooms are clean, organized and secured
- Immediate communication of special requests made by guests to the manger, assistant manager or banquet captain and communicating guest problems or concerns
- Follow all designated opening and closing procedures to ensure areas are secure and energy efficient
- Adhere to all department and Club wide policies and procedures
- Ensure the proper handling and cleaning of all equipment, china, glass, and silver
- Perform any reasonable request assigned by management for the Club’s staffing and performance needs

Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 Education, 1 years related work experience and Smart Serve Certification.
- Good communication skills with a Good working knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Well groomed, mannerly, co-operative and outwardly friendly (team oriented).
- Ability to work under periods of extreme pressure.
- Able to work split shifts - days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Good organisational skills.
- Knowledge of P.O.S System, Northstar or equivalent is an asset.
- Punctual and reliable.

Work Schedule
- Must be available to work weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM.
