Sanford Housing Society (SHS) has been providing secure and affordable housing since 1989, with a focus on individuals living with mental illness or addiction issues. We operate over 650 units across Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Richmond.

The BRice Apartments is a 48-unit affordable housing site operated in partnership with the City of Vancouver and Vancouver Community Land Trust. It provides housing for 24 clients of the Kettle Friendship Society and 24 eligible Vancouver residents.

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join our team as the Caretaker for The BRice. This full-time role involves working directly with tenants, contractors, and the public, and performing routine maintenance and janitorial duties.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Prepare vacant suites for new tenants
- Conduct routine inspections and respond to building issues
- Coordinate with contractors and track work orders
- Maintain outdoor areas and perform seasonal tasks
- Clean common areas and laundry rooms
- Monitor pest control and manage janitorial supplies
- Coordinate tenant move-ins and move-outs
- Respond to tenant concerns professionally
- Support administrative functions and uphold SHS policies

**Qualifications**
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of caretaking or building management experience
- Familiarity with MS Office and property management software
- Experience in nonprofit housing or working with vulnerable populations is an asset
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $46,900.00-$59,350.00 per year
