Cumberland Paving and Contracting is part of Miller Paving Atlantic, based in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Cumberland Paving and Contracting provides the public and private sectors with road construction, paving, road and structure rehabilitation, engineering construction, aggregate-based materials, highway operations, and maintenance services.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- 2-3 years’ experience in road construction (paving, milling, grading, etc)
- Lead hand /supervisory experience with strong leadership skills
- Available to work extended hours and weekends, when required
- Class 5 Driving License and own transportation to and from work

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Mechanically inclined
- Previous experience installing or adjusting manholes, water valves or catch basins

**Day In The Life**:
As a Lead Hand on the hardware crew, your primary responsibility is to work closely with the crew and ensure the day-to-day tasks set out by the foreman are being completed safely and efficiently. You will normally be adjusting or installing manholes and water valves on the road surface in preparation for paving but additionally will be performing landscape prep duties and other types of road prep. Attention to detail will be imperative in this role to ensure all products are of the highest quality standard and meet all specifications.
