**Summary**
Penny’s Kitchen Diner & Coffeehouse is seeking to hire a Breakfast Cook, comfortable with a classic breakfast and short order lunch menu. We are a fast-paced environment with high volume of guests. We are looking for an individual that is passionate about being part of a local community team and cares about the quality of food they serve and community we are a part of.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Follows established menu.
- Ensures that food is “served safe” and held at safe temperatures before serving.
- Communicates inventory and equipment needs to Kitchen Manager.
- Follows basic FIFO inventory rule.
- Displays/presents food in an attractive and appetizing manner in accordance with set standards, platting and execution.
- Stores, labels, and dates foods ensuring proper rotation.
- Completes list of daily maintenance chores.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen counters, sinks, grill, stove & ovens.
**Requirements**:
- Fast Paced Canadian Breakfast Experience mandatory.
- Must be trainable and a team player.
- Reading, Writing and Speaking in fluent English.
- Must be reliable with dependable transportation. Public transit not available.
- Food Handlers Certification or recognized equivalent.
- Experience with kitchen tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of nutrition, portioning, and food allergies.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
