This position contributes to the effective operation of the Linen Department for the distribution of Linen/Laundry throughout the Hospital and other user areas.
- Fills requisitions and delivers Linen Supplies on request from users via scheduled and stat deliveries
- Receives clean linen from central laundry for hospital wide distribution
- Distributes bins for soiled linen throughout the hospital
- Removes soiled linen bins from designated areas and ships to central laundry
- Prepares scrub suits to fit uniform dispenser's slots
- Replenishes and removes scrub suits from dispensing machine
- Attends to lab coats exchange window
- Sorts and distributes unit owned items, e.g privacy curtains, shower curtains, and slings
- Replenishes linen supply carts to established quotas and standards
- Loads/unloads linen on/from linen trailer
- Delivers/collects linen bins to/from user areas
- Exchanges linen carts to all user areas
- Carries out the collection and return of soiled linen
- Issues and distributes staff uniforms, lab coats and scrub suits
- Replenishes/removes scrub suits in ScrubEx machine
- Assists with other duties related to this position as required
- Job Requirements- Successful completion of a High School diploma
- 1 year recent experience in a hospital Materials/Supplies Distribution department
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position in order to perform the essential duties of the job which requires lifting (up to 33 lbs.), pushing (up to 63 lbs.), adjusting to different temperatures, walking, bending and standing for extended periods of time
- Basic computer skills
- Familiarity with medical and surgical supplies
- Ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing environment while meeting deadlines
- Customer service oriented, with the ability to effectively work in a diverse environment both independently and as a team player
- Ability to communicate and read using English in order to effectively perform essential requirements of this position
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance attendance history
