Physiotherapy Assistant

We are currently looking for a physiotherapy assistant to help us with our ever growing schedule. **You must have an extensive exercise prescription background for this position.**

We have a Team approach to care using a model that supports Physiotherapists, and RMTs. You will have a private office to discuss cases with the Team and do your paperwork (which is an on-line platform). We are located in the fastest growing suburb in Ottawa and have a steady flow of new patients, as we have been in the town for over 14 years. We have excellent ties to the community and are located within a plaza that has great anchor stores for client traffic: A massive Good Life Fitness Gym, a Tim Hortons, and a massive Farm Boy coming this fall 2021.

As a PTA you will:

- Support client's treatments in the clinic under the direction of the treating Physiotherapist.
- Work alongside an interdisciplinary team, including: Physiotherapists and Registered Massage Therapists in matters regarding treatment, progression of treatment and management of the clients.
- Developing personalized treatment plans along with the Team.
- Work as a member of a team to analyze and make recommendations to successfully improve overall functional, ability, and mobility.
- Design and implement a therapeutic treatment program to meet the identified client needs.
- Assisting physiotherapists with client care; including the use of ultrasound equipment, exercise programs etc.
- Treatment area cleanliness, including laundry and treatment area organization.
- Maintenance and cleaning/sterilization of medical equipment.

To take on the role of PTA you must:

- Be a graduate of a PTA Program.
- Have excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Be comfortable working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Be empathetic with an effective ability to build rapport with patients.
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and to facilitate our patient's needs by exceeding their goals.
- Previous personal or professional experience with exercise prescription an asset
- Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Be able to take over basic front staff duties.
- Be able to use our exercise software to create plans for clients.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $17.00-$17.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
