We are currently searching for an energetic, motivated _**_Microbiology Supervisor_**_ to join Apollo Team_

**POSITION SCOPE**:
The Microbiology Supervisor schedules and organizes all microbiological testing, including in-house, as well as third party testing. The Supervisor is designated as the biosafety officer ensuring compliance to the company and regulatory biosafety programs. Oversees and performs Microbiological Testing including but not limited to Sterility Testing, Microbial Limit testing, growth promotion test, Suitability Testing, Environmental Monitoring, Microbial Identification, water testing, PET Testing, Media Preparation & Raw Material Testing.

The individual will also be responsible for reviewing analytical documentation of analysis. The individual performs the testing; maintain records and laboratory samples in addition to assisting and supporting as required.

**_RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES_**:

- Schedules and organizes all microbiological testing, including in-house, as well as third party testing. Isolates & makes cultures of microorganisms including identify microorganisms by examinations.
- Schedules microbiology staff and organizes activities amongst staff to ensure test prioritization to meet release demands.
- Initiates change control records to implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Test Methods (TMs) for micro laboratory.
- Initiates deviation reports and investigates out of specification and out of trend investigations covering the micro lab testing.
- Periodic review of microbial related lab methods for alignment with current ICH and USP standards.
- Ensures laboratory media levels are maintained to eliminate waste (FIFO).
- Maintain all related micro laboratory records in accordance to GMP and GDP guidelines by performing review of test records and micro lab records.
- Participate in testing of sample, development, and tech transfer of microbial test methods to support in-house test method implementation.
- Maintain orderly filing system amongst the microbiologists and audit system periodically.
- Assume role as Biosafety Officer and maintain registration with the PHAC (Public Health Agency of Canada)
- Oversee and coordinate execution of the environmental monitoring program in conjunction with the applicable regulatory standards and guidelines, e.g. GMP and USP.
- Oversee Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) program for the micro laboratory. Train microbiologists on GLP and aseptic techniques to follow to ensure low probability of human error and contamination of test samples.
- Monitor lab equipment cleaning, maintenance and calibration schedules. Arrange for cleaning and maintenance as necessary.
- Open to flexible shift scheduling depending on the demands of the business.
