Flooring Foreman

Smitco Flooring is the most referred Hardwood and Tile installer team in the Halifax/Dartmouth area and we are committed to exceeding our customer's expectations. We are currently seeking experienced Installers to fill a Foreman position, installing **Hardwood and Laminate**.

Hours of operations are normally Monday through Friday, but may be required to work an occasional weekend.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Installation of laminate, hardwood and engineered flooring
- Preparation of surfaces, such as grinding and correcting subfloor levels
- Changing boards, repairing flooring
- Cutting doors, custom transitions
- Installation of moulding, baseboards, nosing
- Installation of picture frame with hardwood
- Perform minor repairs to equipment
- Professionalism in customer service
- Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- 2-3+ Years experience
- Driver’s License
- Competency in ability to use both hand and power tools.
- Competency in measuring and marking guidelines.
- Ability to load and unload materials from vans
- Good communication, reading and writing skills
- Safety minded
- Ability to follow standard procedures
- Ability to identify problems and select the most appropriate solution
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in a limited time frame and co-ordinate with others

Rate of Pay: To be negotiated, depending on experience. Fuel Card provided with Van for company use.

- DARTMOUTH, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Floor Installation: 2 years (required)
