Jeffery's Greenhouses Inc is a wholesale distributor of spring bedding and potted plants to a major retail box store chain servicing and supplying multiple garden centers throughout Ontario.

We are looking for an energetic, self-starter with general labour and basic tool usage experience to join an existing team who is going to our customer sites to set up outdoor Garden Centers in advance of the upcoming spring season. The successful applicant may have the opportunity to be considered for future short-termed contracts as they are available.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Following the direction of the Merchandising Manager, this position will travel to various Garden Centers and assist with assembly and set up of garden center benches according to provided project instructions and planograms.
- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
- Travel to customer locations will be required.
- Some overnights will be required with hotels and meals being provided by the company.
- Follow all health and safety regulations during project build.
- Ensure regulated and proper safety gear and clothing are worn (layers, dressed for the outside elements, gloves, safety shoes, knee pads and eyeglasses where appropriate).
- Ensure applicable equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- Previous experience in construction, general building or assembly would be an asset in this role.
- Ability to work outdoors in changing temperatures and conditions.
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Safely operate a pallet jack
- Small hand tools (such as a hammer) when needed

**Work Environment & Requirements**:

- Open flexibility is required as there are early morning starts, long days and overnight requirements due to travel around the province.
- Local travel will be required between garden centers.
- Steel-toed safety boots are required.
- A valid driver's license along with a reliable, insured, and registered personal vehicle are optional but may be required occasionally when regular drivers are unavailable. Mileage will be reimbursed.

**Wage**:

- $17.20/hr
- Will ride in company vehicle with another driver.
- KM will be reimbursed for occasional times where regular drivers are not available.
- For overnight stays, hotels and meals will be paid for by company.
