**Marquis** is looking for a **Digital Press Operator **for our Toronto site.

**Job type**:Full time, permanent

**Shifts: 3 shift rotation - Days, Afternoons, Nights**

**Responsibilities of the Digital Press Operator**:

- Read, understand and follow work orders;
- Responsible for the operation of digital format printers;
- Lift and stack heavy book blocks efficiently in an organized manner and correct any problems with those processed off the machine;
- Complete skid tags from work orders; get supplies as needed;
- Prepare rolls and feeding paper to the digital finishing equipment (the GEP and Hunkeler);
- Check copies to ensure that standards are met (e.g. colours, trim, page numbers, readability etc.)
- Responsible for training of Digital Helpers on finishing equipment (the GEP and Hunkeler) and on manufacturing databases (e.g. Flex);
- Review files thoroughly before setting up job; set up jobs according to paper type, etc...;
- Run set-up calibrations and take necessary action;
- Plan ahead to prepare for upcoming jobs and ensure that paper and all necessary supplies required are at the press; monitor and maintain satisfactory inventory levels of materials;
- Prepare materials and feed paper into press;
- Ensure full quality control is performed on all finished products, adhering to established criteria
- Communicate with Supervisor/Manager regarding downtime, pulled jobs and/or special status jobs;
- Perform regular preventative maintenance to ensure digital format printers and associated finishing equipment are working efficiently; initiate Maintenance work orders as required;
- Track make ready times, run speeds and throughput, waste and downtim**e.**

**Qualifications of the Digital Press Operator**:

- Ability to demonstrate depth of knowledge and skill in digital print manufacturing;
- Good organization skills with strong attention to detail;
- Cooperative team player with good English communication skills - both verbal and written;
- Pro-active, flexible, and open-minded to new processes, tasks, and identifying opportunities;
- Basic use of manufacturing databases ;
- Excellent eye for colour and colour management skills;
- Strong ability to resolve downtime, good troubleshooting skills for quality, mechanical, or software issues;
- 2 years of experience running digital finishing equipment;
- Mechanical aptitude.
