**Job description** - We are looking for a camp coach with an athletic or coaching background who ideally has experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4 - 11 - KidStrong Camp Coach would focus on coaching children on brain, physical and character development that stems from a designed camp curriculum - The summer camp season runs from July 2nd to August 29th (M-F), from 9am - 3:30pm - Additional opportunity to increase scheduled hours through party coaching hours - may require additional training **Responsibilities** - Camp sizes of up to 20 children, ages ranging from 4 - 11 - Teach the KidStrong Camp curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team - Must be able to ensure camp both start and end on schedule and follow appropriate pace of curriculum - Greet students as well as parent(s)/guardian(s) as they arrive at camp and ensure proper check-in/check-out procedures are followed. - Maintain dynamic, fun, motivational and professional demeanor when leading camp - Manage behaviours and provide updates to parents at end of day or make phone calls home as necessary - Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises and activities - Ensure cleanliness of the center including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift. - Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, providing detailed MDUs (mid-day update) and AARs (After Action Report). Also periodic checks of messages when not in centers is required - Complete trainings through LearnUpon as required and additional training with centre GM - Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through camp, lift and repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds in weight - Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety - Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required GM - Supervision, safety, and program implementation for campers while ensuring the well-being of all children **Requirements**: - Passion for working with children is non-negotiable - Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics is preferred - Valid CPR certification - Vulnerable Sector Check (within 3 years) - Positive, motivating and effective interpersonal communication skills - Problem solver and ability to think on your feet (i.e. Adjusting STEM activities as necessary in order to increase student engagement) - Self-starter who just gets a job done - Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age is preferred **Job Type**: Seasonal Contract length: 2 months Pay: $17.20-$18.00 per hour Expected hours: 35 per week Schedule: - Monday to Friday Application question(s): - Do you have regular access to a vehicle for commuting to work? - Do you have an updated vulnerable sector police check? - This position requires a high school diploma.
