A knowledge with installations for floor and wall coverings including tile, vinyl composites, wood and panel systems an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundation, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Performing tasks involving physical labour at interior residential, commercial and building sites.
- Complete warranty work - including drywall repairs, carpentry and taking care of deficiency lists.
- Participating in site demolition with other employees
- Performing physical lifting and removal of contents such as debris, wet drywall, wet carpet, etc.
- Follow safe work procedures and rules
- Installation of tile according to design plans
- Installation of cabinetry
- Measuring and cutting tile
- Light plumbing & electrical
- Installation of appliances
- Installation of light fixtures
- Installation of vanities and toilets
- Assisting other tradesmen with daily tasks
- Operating power tools
- Organizing and cleaning job site

Qualifications/ Education:

- You must have 7 + years of renovation experience and confidence to lead and complete jobs.
- Experienced and highly skilled in both rough and finish carpentry, must also be experienced in drywall, flooring, tiling, painting, demolition, door and window installation, etc.
- Experience in residential and commercial framing and boarding
- Experienced to carry out rough framing for new additions, including new sub-floor, new walls, new roof trusses
- Experience with doors, base/case, stairs, moldings and hardware ( Final Adjustments )
- AEC/ DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate required

**Requirements**:

- Valid “G” driver’s license and a vehicle, must have your own transportation to get to and from jobsites.
- Speak fluent English
- Be physically fit and able to work 44 + hours a week
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
